Inquiry Post #6
This week we heard back from our mentor teachers! Yay! While in Japan I am going to be teaching grade 7. I get to teach grade 7 English Language Arts, Science, Math and Social Studies.
Although Elissa is in the High school Post Degree Professional Program (PDPP) and I am in the Elementary PDPP we believe that it is still valuable for us to collaborate and work together. Even though our practicum planning will look different we still look forward to our weekly trip planning/ learning Japanese meetings! This week we learned more formal greetings. We were told that the school often gets high profile visitors (yesterday they had the Japanese minister of education stop by!) so we should have some traditional, formal sayings in our back pocket just in case.

Wow, things are taking shape quickly. I see the value in learning formal greetings/interactions. The rest will come naturally. You both need a friend to lean on, so it makes sense to keep the sharing going.
